| Title: “Every Believer: A Creationist & Theologian”
Part I : God's Plan for Mankind is in Context of Creation.
Def: Creationist: A doctrine or theory holding that matter, the various forms of life, and the world were created by God out of nothing as described in Genesis. Merrian - Webster Online Dictionary
Def. Theology: The study of faith, practice, and experience; especially the study of God and of God's relation to the world.
Text: Gen. 1:26-28,31 “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very Good.” Genesis means “Beginnings” Yes God is a baseball fan (Most likely Yankee's) “In the Big Inning”. We see that we are made in the image & likeness of the Trinity. We are a tricodomey, three parts in one, body, soul & spirit. Next we see the authority God gave mankind to use the resources of the world for their needs. This is mentioned two different times in this brief passage. We clearly are to use and manage these resources. We then see very clearly the distinctive differences, male and female. Immediately following is the purpose of male and female, to procreate children that are in God's likeness. WOW, what a plan! What an honor that we are made in God's image. What a story we have to tell!
Part II : God's Plan of Salvation is in context of Creation.
Text: Rom. 1:20 “For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:” Lets first agree that the Bible is grammatically, historically and scientifically accurate. Mt. 5:18 “For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.” Mt. 1:1 “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.” I Tim. 6:20 “O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane and vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:” In our main text we see that the invisible things of creation, are very likely the knowledge of how this world and universe were made. Because every human can observe the world around them they have to conclude that there must be a Creator. One can deny the facts but that does not change the facts of Creation. I like to say de nile is not a river in Egypt . The correct conclusion of Creation is that not only is there a Creator, but that there is a Savior for everyone in this world. The Creation points everyone to the Savior. Not only is there a Creator, and a Savior but also the universal human need is that there is purpose to life.
Part III : God's Two Laws Are In context of Creation.
Text: Rom. 8:22 “For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.” We know that in the Christian life there is a constant battle between good and evil. Since the fall of man, in the Garden of Eden, not only has the human body been under the curse of the law but also the Earth itself has been under the curse. The Creation is ruled by laws. One of the first is the contrasting law of light and darkness. Gen.1:5 “And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.” This being a natural law is a perfect picture of the spiritual law of good and evil. Every Christian battles with the law of good and evil. Rom. 8:6 “For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.” A great story - picture of this is that of the white and black wolf that fight to ones death. The question is which one will win? The answer, the one that is fed the most. In the battle between good and evil in the Christian life the victory is ours to lose. God has given the believer every possible spiritual tool in their preverbal toolbox. We have been given the indwelling Holy Spirit. We have been given God's preserved Word that holds the promise of a blessed life. We have the second head of the Trinity, Jesus Christ interceding on our behalf. Let's just decide now that we are going to be victorious Christians for God's glory!
Part IV : God's Plan For Marriage Is In context of Creation.
Text: Mark 10:6-12 “But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder. And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter. And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.” Here we have the legal definition of marriage. One man and one woman for life, or till death do you part. This is the only plan for the perpetuation of civilization. There is no plan B. You may have heard that pagwins have no divorces. The reason being, there is no reason to look around, they all look alike. When we look at the biblical plan for marriage we can not help but see an amazing plan that God has created. But then one must look at how this plan has been implemented and ask why they look so different? One possible answer might be that choice has superceded purpose. Like the pegwins the sum total of their purpose seems simply to procreate their kind, care for one another, and to be friends for life. While implementing God's marriage plan we might take a lesson from pagwins.
Part V : God's Plan For The Second Coming of Christ Is In context of Creation.
Text: II Peter 3:4 “And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation.” It has been said, “the more things change, the more they stay the same”. In Noah's day all but eight doubted God. Only eight were saved by faith. The majority were wrong, only a handful of believers were right. Gen. 7:13 “ In the selfsame day entered Noah, and Shem, and Ham, and Japheth, the sons of Noah, and Noah's wife, and the three wives of his sons with them, into the ark;” v.16b “and the LORD shut him in.” v.23b “and Noah only remained alive , and they that were with him in the ark.” The doubters have always doubted, but doubting never changed God's plan. The second coming of Christ is couched in the context of the world and the Word. John 1:1-3 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” Christ is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. He was present and active in the Creation, and He is coming for those that have called upon His name. II Peter 3:10a “But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night;”
Part VI : God's Plan For The Tribulation In The Context of Creation.
Text: Mark 13:19 “For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.” This time period will be the beginning of seven years which will begin immediately following the rapture of all believers, as mentioned in Rev. 4:1,2. What will “those days” look like? Will we know what to look for? There are specific events to look for right before Christ' return. Mk. 13:6-10 “For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ ; and shall deceive many. And when ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars, be ye not troubled: for such things must needs be; but the end shall not be yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows. But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for my sake, for a testimony against them. And the gospel must first be published among all nations.” Here a list of events that one could make an argument that is virtually complete. The question is not if these will be completed, but when. And if we will be ready when Christ comes again? Furthermore, will we be found helping others to be ready for Christ' return? Lets decide right now that we will be ready!
Part VII: God's Plan For The New Jerusalem Is In context of Creation.
Text: Revelation 3:12,14 “Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name. And unto the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God;” The eternal place of the redeemed, New Jerusalem, has it's timing set in motion beginning with the Creation. The Creation seems to be the focal point of God's events, institutions and statues. And the Creation points to Jesus Christ. So the every person has spiritual and physical road signs pointing them in the way through this life and on to the New Jerusalem. Rev. 21:21-23 “ And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass. And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.” What a tremendous beginning and a wonderful future believers have, as well as a great opportunity we have to tell this story to those in this generation.
