| An Apologetic of the
Resurrection of Jesus Christ
Meaning: A verbal defense. It was used by the Greeks in a legal sense, as a demand or appeal.
Title: Christ' resurrection power influence on the intellectuals
Title: Christ' 40 day appearing would convince any court of His deity.
Text: I Corinthians 15:3-6 “For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the Scriptures: And that he was seen of Cephas, then of the twelve: After that, he was seen of above five hundred brethren at once; of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some are fallen asleep.”
If we were to put on our legal defense hat, and we were assigned to defend or prove otherwise the authenticity of Christ's claims. We would have to supine and call to the witness stand over 500 people that would give under oath statements if they had witnessed Christ living after His crucifixion, death and burial. And each witness would respond saying, Yes I have seen Christ walk, and speak, and eat and rest for some 40 days after His death, burial and resurrection.
Legal, medical, educational and religious experts of the day might be called to the stand and asked could it be possible for a man to live after he has died? Would apparent good health be possible after the most Hanes and brutal beatings ever imagined? The answers might be varied and even stemmed.
But opponents of Christ' authenticity would have a problem with those 500 witnesses. The opponents would also have a problem with those witnesses referring to Christ in the present tense. The court would have no choice but to convict Christ of His own authenticity. If you are not yet convinced of Christ' authenticity you should reread the evidence.
